In addition to the activities directly sponsored by LDC, we actively support a number of other intiatives through financial, and logistical support and/or by the active involvement of our members.
These include:
- Teen Challenge / Horizon Life Training - LDC actively supports the work of Teen Challenge both with its exciting new trailer outreach in the Harrogate area and by providing fellowship and support tor some of the people going through its Horizon Life Training follow-up programme.
- Hyper - An alcohol-free club for under-18's, set up by Harrogate Churches Together. This provides youngsters a safe place.to hang out with their friends.
- Town Pastors - An inter-church initiative to assist teens and twenties coming out of the Harrogate night clubs and bars. This has had a tremendus inflluence in reducing levels of crime and public nuisance on Friday and Saturday nights.
- Roll the Rock - An inter-denominational ministry to youth in the Harrogate area.
- Harrogate Healing Rooms - Part of the National Association of Healing rooms. Christians from several local churches meet on a Sunday Night to minister to anyone who comes to them in need of healing, whether physical or emotional.
- Healing on the Streets - Another inter-church initiative to demonstrate the healing power of Jesus; this time by gathering fortnightly in the town centre to offer on-the-spot prayer for any passer-by who wants it.
